Steamboat Capital Partners is a value-oriented hedge fund based out of Connecticut. It follows a philosophy of creating concentrated portfolios consisting of catalyst-driven investments. The fund is managed by Parsa Kiai who before founding Steamboat was a portfolio manager in Perry Capital and Sonterra Capital.
In the latest Q2 letter to the investors, Kiai reported that the fund generated a 4.48% gross return, while the net reached 3.70%. The fund was outperformed by the S&P 500 (4.3%) while it managed to beat the Russell 2000 (-3.3%) and CS Hedge Fund Indexes (1.5%).
