Paragon Fund’s Long/Short strategy generated a 102.6% return over the last 12 months, drawing significant investor attention. In the last six months alone, the fund delivered a 74.6% return. Current assets under management are $69 million, and the latest June report disclosed a monthly decline of -7.3%.

The fund was launched by Paragon Funds Management in March 2013, aiming to generate returns exceeding 10% per annum over a five-year period. The firm is based in Melbourne and was founded by John Deniz. The L/S strategy couples a bottom-up stock selection approach with a top-down view of macro factors, creating a concentrated portfolio of long and short positions. It maintains a low correlation with Australian equities, with significant exposure to the Industrials and Resources sectors. Geographically, the fund primarily invests in Australia and North America. The fund describes its investment profile as high-risk, high-return.
