Third Point’s Bet on Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Credit Powers 2024 Gains [Exclusive]

Dan Loeb’s Third Point Offshore Fund returned 9.1% for the fourth quarter, bringing its full-year return to 24.2% for 2024. Third Point Ultra gained 10.4% in the fourth quarter and was up 26.1% for the full year.

Meanwhile, the HFRI Event Driven Index returned a mere 1.1% for the quarter and 8.7% for the full year, while the S&P 500 gained 2.4% in the fourth quarter and 25% for the full year. The MSCI World Index declined 0.1% in the fourth quarter and is up 19.2% for 2024.
