Andrew Jones, who has finance and accounting qualifications and an MBA from the University of Chicago, garnered first-hand experience of value investing during a decade spent at Tweedy, Browne and Glickenhaus & Co.

In 1996 he decided to set up shop on his own and founded North Star Partners.

He is still nostalgic, however, about what he learned at those two renowned value investing firms. “I was fortunate to work at some outstanding value shops with many different investors who agreed on very little other than the notion of buying cheap stocks,” he says in his interview published in the September 30 issue of Value Investor Insight.
