Many hedge fund managers are known to be philanthropists as well, and a lot of them give through their own foundation. Jonathon Jacobson of Highfields Capital is one of those who use their own foundation to dole out their millions to worthy causes.

Jacobson’s One8 Foundation describes itself as “both a venture philanthropy and a pro bono consultancy working side by side with grantee partners to create social change.” The foundation’s grant-making priorities are education and building vibrant Jewish communities while supporting Israel and reducing antisemitism.
