The Hawk Ridge Capital Management story started in 2007 when its founder David Brown utilized a mere $4 million to create a top-tier performing portfolio. In the meantime, AUM grew to over $2 billion, and the fund delivered outstanding performances for several years.

The core concept of the hedge fund is to identify undervalued assets and take positions in the long term. They also take short positions in overvalued assets, so their approach is basically a short/long equity. Most of the positions are in small-cap companies in the US hailing from the healthcare, technology, and media sectors.
