After Bloomberg experienced a rare 2016 decline in terminal sales, only one of two years of such years since its founding in 1981, the data and technology firm grew users by 816 in 2017, data from Burton-Taylor consulting shows. While it added users, both Bloomberg and rival Thomson Reuters slightly lost market share. Bloomberg’s market share dropped to 33.2% in 2017 from 33.4% in 2016 while users for the $22,000 per year terminals grew to a total of 325,301.
