John Templeton had a very rich and diverse professional life, known as a manager of the Templeton Growth Fund and founder of the John Templeton Foundation.

His long and productive investment career started in 1937 when he founded Templeton, Dobbrow, & Vance, which later evolved into Templeton Growth Fund. He was known for his contrarian investing approach, often betting on undervalued securities that no one believed in. Templeton was also one of the pioneers of global investing outreach.

He founded the John Templeton Foundation in 1987 whose mission from the start was to support scientific research and exploration of the crucial issues that mankind faced. The foundation promotes character development emphasizing virtues like gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion.
