John Armitage’s Q1 2024 Letter: Investing In The Reinsurance Sector; Brokerage Brings Solid Returns

Egerton Capital is a hedge fund founded in 1994 by British-Irish investor John Armitage. After a solid 2023 and double-digit returns, his fund is still flying high. From the latest letter to investors obtained by Hedge Fund Alpha, Q1 returns are also in the double-digit range.

On a currency unhedged basis, the fund delivered 15.8% in terms of the British pound, 17.3% in euros, 14.8% in dollars, and 22.5% in Norwegian crowns. On a currency-hedged basis, the fund gained 15.7% in the British pound, 15.3% in the euro, 15.7% in dollars, and 15.5% in the Norwegian crown.
