Dan Loeb’s quarterly 13F filings (via Third Point) get plenty of attention because they reveal what stocks he has invested in, but there’s another public filing that shows additional stocks and other investments. Dan Loeb donates millions to his foundation to support what he deems to be worthy causes, and through that foundation, he also invests in stocks and funds.

Background on Dan Loeb’s foundation

The Margaret and Daniel Loeb Foundation supports left-of-center and right-of-center organizations, with recipients including nonprofits that promote education, rescue animals, support health care, and defend women’s rights outside the U.S., Jewish-American cultural groups, neoconservative foreign-policy groups, and nonprofit organizations that promote LGBT policies in Israel and the U.S.
