Will Brennan, the founder of Long Path Partners, was one of the speakers at the Capstone Student Investment Conference 2026. He used this chance to share his two-decade-long investing experience and insights with potential future investors. After diving into his investment approach, Brennan also discussed two case studies to show how he implements the strategy.
What is Long Path Partners
Long Path Partners was founded in 2018 with $4 million of capital. While the team and assets grew in time (AUM is now over $1.3B), the original investing concept remained the same. Essentially, the fund makes long-term bets on high-quality companies. When investing, priority takes firms with good management teams that are, at the same time, attractive in terms of valuation.
When constructing a portfolio, the team includes companies from a whole spectrum of market capitalization, from the smallest to large companies. As another form of diversification, the fund relies on investing in both private and public markets.
For finding the best opportunities in the market, the team is not afraid to go into complexity. While the strategy seems to allow a wide selection of companies, Brennan argues that it does. To be included in the portfolio, the fund focuses only on a narrow selection of companies that deliver mission-critical products.
