Oliver Scharping serves as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Berenberg, where he leads event-driven investment strategies with a particular focus on merger arbitrage. He has over 15 years of experience in risk arbitrage, corporate action, and catalyst-driven investing. Scharping began his career in M&A at Lazarus and Barclays, before transitioning to the buy side to build strategies and later head event-driven special situations. He is also an adjunct professor of finance at the HEC School of Management of Paris and IE University of Monaco, holding degrees from the University of Saint Gallen, London Business School, and Columbia.
