Tiger cub Chris Shumway may have shut down Shumway Capital in early 2011, but he seems to be focusing much of his efforts on philanthropy now through the foundation he founded with his wife. Shumway continues to invest through his foundation, and he’s betting big on bitcoin.

Chris and Carrie Shumway established their foundation with the goal of helping break the cycle of poverty by providing better opportunities in public education. The foundation aims to “enhance and equalize the educational landscape for all students” by supporting programs that improve education in underserved communities.

The Chris and Carrie Shumway Foundation funds organizations and institutions that are “committed to reducing the disparity of educational outcomes between low-income and high-income students.”
