Byron Trott of BDT Invested Most of His Foundation’s Money with His Own Funds

Many of the world’s millionaires and billionaires spearhead their own philanthropic efforts through their own foundations. Byron Trott of BDT is among those with their own foundations, and he pledged to give away the lion’s share of his fortune after the pandemic.

Trott, formerly of Goldman Sachs, merged his investment firm with Michael Dell’s MSD Partners to form BDT & MSD Partners in January 2023. MSD Partners was founded to allow outside investors to invest in strategies developed by Dell’s MSD Capital.
