Charles Allmon, one of the most successful growth investors of the last decade died earlier this month aged 94.

Few have heard of Charles Allmon, barring the readers of his newsletter Growth Stock Outlook, which he discontinued in 2008 after 43 years of publication.

Charles Allmon: Not a traditional investor

Charles Allmon wasn’t a traditional growth investor or value investor to that matter. While his newsletter was titled Growth Stock Outlook, he was a close follower of Benjamin Graham, who advocated buying only stocks that trade for significantly less than their net worth. Combining Graham’s value discipline with some growth qualities worked very well for Allmon over the years.
