There has been some mildly humorous speculation among those in the financial services industry that Apple should take it’s nearly $200 billion in cash reserves and move into the financial services sector. With such a balance sheet they could really have an impact.
That appears to be happening, to a degree, as Apple and other tech giants such as Oracle and Google, flush with cash, are moving into the wholesale bond market and competing with the likes of bond giants such as PIMCO, BlackRock Inc., Doubline and Janus Capital for deals.
