Middle-class America is nowhere near ready to retire – at least financially. In fact, one-third of Americans are not contributing to any retirement vehicle at all.
A Wells Fargo study on 2014 middle-class retirement trends found that most Americans are struggling to get their ducks in a row, economically, for later life. Sixty-eight percent of those surveyed say they find saving for retirement harder than anticipated, and the median amount earmarked is just $20,000.
