Shorts on Tesla and SolarCity are still Lakewood Capital’s biggest losing positions

Lakewood Capital's Anthony Bozza remains convinced that Tesla Motors and SolarCity shares are going down. And that's despite the fact that the short positions in both of Elon Musk's companies continue to be his firm's two biggest losers.

 

Lakewood Capital still losing big on Tesla, SolarCity shorts

A copy of Lakewood's latest investor letter dated Jan. 24 was reviewed by ValueWalk. In it, Bozza stated that they lost 286 basis points on their short of Tesla and 150 basis points on their short of SolarCity. The fund generated a net return of 6.6% in the fourth quarter. For the full year, the
fund’s net return was 13.0%.
