Greene King, owner of pubs and a spirit brewer, is being stormed by shortsellers in London. The largest pub landlord in the U.K is now the second-most shorted company on the FTSE, according to disclosures made to U.K's Financial Conduct Authority. Note that short positions filed with the FCA do not account for the total short interest, but are only a sum of bets above 0.5% of outstanding shares.

Short interest in Greene King is now up to 9% of company's outstanding shares, and Sandell Asset Management, Cheyne Capital and HBK Investments have the largest short positions. Other funds who are shorting the pub owner are Carlson Capital, BTG Pactual, AQR Capital, Arrowgrass Capital and others.
