Wynn Resorts, Limited (NASDAQ:WYNN), chairman Steve Wynn’s lawsuit accusing short-seller Jim Chanos of defamation was thrown out by a federal judge in San Francisco. Wynn now has until Jan. 13 to revise and refile the lawsuit.

As reported by us, Steve Wynn filed a slander suit in September against Jim Chanos over an alleged statement that Wynn violated the federal Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. According to a complaint filed by Wynn Resorts Ltd. in federal court in San Francisco, Chanos told an audience at an invitation-only event in Berkeley, Calif. that Wynn Resorts, Ltd. and its chairman had violated the U.S. FCPA.
