Securities and Exchange Commissioner (SEC) Mary Jo White today outlined three core initiatives designed to reign in asset manager risk.
“The financial crisis only underscored the importance of the careful management of risk by funds and their advisers, including portfolio composition and operational risks in particular,” White said in prepared remarks at the New York Times Dealbook conference Thursday.
White’s focus is in three areas: data transparency, portfolio composition and worst case asset transition plans.
