Taking the Argentina dispute to a non-U.S. legal jurisdiction isn’t an option, according to Paul Singer’s Elliott Management.
Perhaps among the most influential hedge funds in terms of having a respected insider voice, Singer has given warnings at Davos of international importance after previously warning about the 2008 derivatives crisis to European Central Bankers before the event occurred. It is Singer, with the consummate insider perspective that works regardless of political party, who is saying “NO” to a move by Argentina to take legal jurisdiction offshore.
