Clicking on a YouTube ad could lead to a malicious “Sweet Orange” virus, press reports say.
When users click on a YouTube ad, the traffic flows through legitimate advertising aggregators and then through the apparent modification of domain name service (DNS) information reaches the malicious web stie, according to the TrendLabs Security Intelligence Blog, which first identified the issue.
Google responded late in the afternoon, saying in a statement to ValueWalk: "Our teams have taken the appropriate actions to resolve this issue. The security of our users is a top priority and we're constantly improving our systems to protect against bad actors online."
