Recent departures from Point72 Asset Management, formerly SAC Capital Advisors, has effectively closed the Boston office and the firm is having difficulty retaining and attracting employees, according to a press report. As VW previously noted, one firm picking off employees from Point72 is Balyasny Asset Management.

SAC Capital Advisors and its founder, billionaire Steven A. Cohen, were subject of a series of insider trading charges that effectively tainted the firm and pushed it to transform into a private family office from a hedge fund offering investments to the qualified public.
