The closing afternoon slot at the 2026 Value Investing Seminar belonged to its own founder. Ciccio Azzollini, Co-Founder and CIO of 3IP SGR and the driving force behind the seminar for more than two decades, took the stage in Trani not to recap the conference but to share something he has been quietly building: an AI-powered investment analysis engine he named Bianca 33, after his daughter. Azzollini spent a decade as CEO of Cattolica Partecipazioni S.p.A., from 2004 to 2014, before several years of independent investment consulting led him to co-found 3IP SGR in 2018.
He holds a business degree from the University of Bari and is a graduate of Columbia Business School’s Value Investing Program. In 2004, he co-founded the Value Investing Seminar alongside Whitney Tilson. The project sits at the intersection of his long-running value discipline and a practical question, can artificial intelligence reduce the frequency and severity of investment mistakes without replacing the investor’s judgment?
What Bianca 33 Actually Does
Azzollini was careful to frame Bianca 33 from the outset. This is not an information service, he told the room, and it is not a synthesis service., but rather a decision-support tool; the goal is to sharpen the investor’s own reasoning, not to outsource it.
