Gianfranco Rosati is an independent investor who manages proprietary capital through a concentrated, long-biased equity and special-situations strategy. A philosophy graduate turned investor, Rosati trained as an analyst at a European value investing firm before advising a long/short equity hedge fund focused on Asian markets.
In 2008, Manuel returned to his home country of Spain and launched his own investment firm, initially a private vehicle supported by friends and family. Over time, he transformed it into a regulated European hedge fund. Since inception, the fund has consistently outperformed the MSCI World Index by over 500 basis points CAGR.
He is a returning VIS speaker, having presented a Swedish consumer-packaging compounder built through disciplined bolt-on acquisitions at the 2025 seminar. At VIS 2026 he walked the room through his thesis on an Italian food and beverage holding company that he believes the market is dramatically mispricing because investors cannot see through the complexity to the underlying businesses.
