Fawaz Chaudhry, CIO of Horizon Global Partners, moved between oil and data during his pitch at the 2026 Sohn Monaco Conference. Chaudhry, who graduated from MIT with degrees in Computer Science and Finance before completing an MBA at London Business School, has run an equity theme strategy for over 14 years across Hadron Capital, Moore Capital, and Fulcrum before employing it at Horizon. His pitch focused on the two most important themes in global markets right now are AI and energy, and one company sits directly at the intersection of both.

The Two Themes, One Stock

Chaudhry’s investment idea is an U.S. oilfield services and hydraulic fracturing company. His thesis has two distinct but reinforcing legs. The first is a straightforward cyclical recovery in the core fracking business. The second is a newer and faster-growing opportunity in modular, behind-the-meter power generation for data centers, which the company is pursuing through one of its divisions. Chaudhry argued that the market is not yet pricing either leg correctly, and that the combination makes this a deeply mispriced stock.

The Cyclical Setup in Fracking

Oil services is a cyclical industry, and Chaudhry was direct about where in that cycle the market sits today.
