Top Performing Hedge Funds In 2025: Penta Japan Value In Lead Up 75% YTD, And High Flying Crypto Fund In Last

The last week of November brought a slight shuffle in the HSBC top-performing list. Penta Japan Value Fund surged to the first place, while the M3 fund from Equitile declined to third. Tianyan China Equity Non-US Feeder Fund and Wellington Strategic European Equity Long Short Fund returned to the list. In the bottom-performing list, there were no changes, with a formerly high flying crypto hedge fund remaining the worst performer.

1. Penta Japan Value Fund: 75.15% YTD Returns

Old Peak Group's Japan Value Fund, with its high gains, has delivered strong gains for several consecutive years (33.5% in 2024, and 54% in 2023). In October, it continued outperforming, surging with 7.20% gains, which pushed the fund into the first place.

2. Alken Capital Class J: 70.02% YTD Returns

Alken Capital and its private debt-oriented fund, in its latest report, disclosed a slight drop from +72.37% to +70.02%.

The winning strategy is based on investing in mid-cap companies from Europe, with a focus on the UK, France, and Germany. Crucial portfolio holdings are Signet Jewelers, Western Digital, Micron Technology, and Pitney Bowes.
