John White of Calibrate Partners presented an idea in the UK home improvement and building products sector at the 2025 Sohn London Conference. White is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Calibrate Partners, which he launched in 2021 after a long career in equity trading and hedge fund management. Calibrate is located in London and has three key principles: uncorrelated Returns, Compounding Capital and Liquid Alternatives.
Before founding Calibrate, he was a Partner and Hedge Fund Manager at GLG Partners, where he created and ran the award winning Alpha Select Hedge Fund. He began his career at James Capel before moving to SBC O’Connor, now UBS, and later joined Morgan Stanley as Head of UK Equity Trading and then European Equity Proprietary Trading.
