Keith Meister, Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Corvex Management LP, addressed attendees at the 2025 13D Monitor Active-Passive Investor Summit. Meister, who previously held senior roles at Icahn Enterprises and Lazar, believes activism should be redefined as acting like a business owner. His strategy focuses on securing stakes in high-quality enterprises undergoing operational or strategic transition, capitalizing on a bifurcated market structure that discounts excellent businesses outside of the centralized S&P growth narrative. Meister stressed that true value creation involves investing behind good management teams and avoiding costly, time-consuming proxy conflicts.
