The 2025 Sohn New York Conference is coming up on May 14, and Hedge Fund Alpha will have complete coverage. Marking its 30th anniversary, the conference will be held at Frederick P. Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York. Once again, the proceeds from the conference will support finding cures for pediatric cancer and other childhood diseases.

Last year’s stock picks haven’t held up so well

Before we dive into the agenda for the 2025 Sohn New York Conference, let’s take a look at some of last year’s stock picks and how they’ve performed over the past year. Gumshoe Capital Management founder Eric Wolff pitched Pason (TSE:PSI), a Canadian oil and gas company. Unfortunately, this stock hasn’t done so well, tumbling 25% over the last 12 months.

Nikhil and Krish Daftary of NK Capital pitched Canada-listed gas station operator Couche Tard. While the stock has had a bouncy ride over the last three months, it’s down about 5% over the past year.

Michelle Ross of StemPoint Capital suggested Crinetics Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:CRNX), which has plunged 39% over the past year. Meanwhile, David Einhorn pitched the Belgian chemicals company Solvay (EBR:SOLB), which has held up better than the other stock picks on this list, rising 39.5% including the dividend payment since his pitch. Etsy stock pitched by Jesse Cohn of Elliott Investment Management, is off 27% over the last year.
