This Value Fund Likes Cruise Lines And Gaming Operators In A Recession

Performing Capital returned -0.3% net for the fourth quarter, bringing its full-year return to -8.4% net for 2022. The S&P 500 Total Return Index returned 7.1% for the fourth quarter, capping its full-year return at -19%, while the Russell 2000 Total Return Index gained 6.2% for a full-year return of -20.5%. The HFRI Equity Hedge Index was up 4.2% for the fourth quarter but ended 2022 down 10.2%.

Since its inception in November 2012, Performing Capital has returned 180.9% for an annualized return of 11.9%. Over the same timeframe, the S&P Total Return Index gained 157.5% for an annualized return of 10.9%, while the Russell 2000 Total Return Index gained 81.5% for an annualized return of 6.7%.
