Crispin Odey is one of London's best-known hedge fund managers and one of the most vocal macro fund managers in the sector.

He shot to fame in the financial crisis when his flagship fund, the Odey Europe fund, made a fortune shorting bank shares. But the star fund manager's record collapsed between 2015, and assets under management at the flagship fund dwindled from nearly $2 billion at the peak in 2015 to around $100 million in early 2021 (total firm assets fell from $11.7 billion to under $2 billion).

However, in 2022, Odey's long-term bets paid off, and he's now back on top.
