The investment management industry has always been a hotbed of competition as managers seek to capture the most assets by generating alpha, outperforming their benchmarks and retaining top talent.

In its "2023 Investment Management Outlook," the Deloitte Center for Financial Services highlighted the strong connections between leadership, culture and operating results.

According to Deloitte, professionally managed assets under management grew for a third straight year, surpassing $123 trillion at the end of 2021 to reach a new record high.
