This Fund Manager Thinks ESG Has Failed, And Here’s Why

It's virtually impossible to go a day without reading something about environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues in the world of investing. However, one fund manager thinks things have gone too far. Between 2017 and 2021, ESG assets grew 50%, especially under the leadership of Blackrock's Larry Fink and Vanguard.

In a recent interview with ValueWalk, Mark Neuman of Constrained Capital shared the details of his ESG Orphans basket, which includes a wide array of sectors and stocks usually excluded from ESG-focused portfolios.
