Tech Took A Massive Bite Out Of SouthPoint’s Q2 Returns [Exclusive]

The Southpoint Qualified Fund and Southpoint Qualified Offshore Fund collectively declined 16.1% net for the second quarter, in line with the S&P 500's 16.1% loss and a bit better than the Russell 2000's 17.2% loss. The Southpoint funds averaged 119% long and 66% short during the second quarter.

Breaking Down Southpoint’s Q2 Returns

Their long positions subtracted 29.4% gross from their quarterly return, while the funds' shorts added 12.9% to their returns. Southpoint's average long fell 23.1%, while its average short tumbled 18.9% during the second quarter.
