Sio Partners lost 12.1% net for June, compared to the S&P 500's 2.3% gain, the MSCI World Healthcare Index's 2.9% return and the 1.4% return for the MSCI World Index. Sio's long positions subtracted 5.9% during June, while its shorts subtracted 8.2% from its performance.

In his July letter to investors, which was reviewed by ValueWalk, Michael Castor of Sio Capital said June was a disappointing month and the single worst month in the fund's 16-year history. He said one long detractor, Curis, accounted for about 25% of the month's drawdown.
