Marathon Partners Equity Management, the equity long/short hedge fund founded in 1997, added 8.03% in the second quarter of 2021.

According to a copy of the hedge fund's second-quarter investor update, which ValueWalk has been able to review, the firm returned 3.24% net in April, 0.12% in May, and 4.51% in June.

Following this performance, for the year to the end of June, Marathon's flagship fund has returned 11.31% for the year to the end of June. The S&P 500 added 15.25% over the same period.

Since its inception in April 1997, Marathon's fund has returned 14.85% annualized, outperforming the S&P 500's return of 9.46%.
