Q3 Letter: Tiger Global outlines thesis for solar play

Tiger Global's public equity funds outperformed during the third quarter with its long and private portfolios contributing more than 100% of gains. On the short side, the portfolio generated positive alpha but absolute losses.

On the long side, key contributors so far this year are Microsoft, Datadog, CrowdStrike, SoftBank Group, Carvana, Amazon, Sea Limited, JD and Sunrun.

In their third-quarter letter to investors, which was reviewed by ValueWalk, the Tiger Global team highlighted Sunrun, a top provider of solar panels to homeowners in the U.S. The company was Tiger Global's biggest contributor for the first nine months of the year.
