Steve Mandel stepped down from his position managing Lone Pine Capital, the hedge fund he started after leaving Tiger Management in 1997. Mandel was employed initially by Robertson as a consumer analyst for Tiger Management after a six-year run at Goldman Sachs, where he worked as a retail analyst.
