Trump Uses a Carrot & Stick

The unconventional President Donald Trump lived up to his reputation Thursday. In a two-part interview with CNBC’s Joe Kernen, broadcast in its entirety Friday morning, Trump had tough talk for the US Federal Reserve about rising interest rates at a time the economy is showing signs of heat but wages still have not been growing. But political interference with a “neutral” central bank’s decisions wasn’t the only faux pas the leader of the free world uttered. He crossed numerous cultural lines and touched third rail issues US Presidents typically avoid – sending the world reeling as a surprise visit with Russian President Vladimir Putin caught even the extensive digital ears of the US intelligence community off guard.
