After 72% Return In 2017, Aussie Hedge Fund Up In April Thanks To Hot Short Trade

Regal Funds Management has released its April 2018 letter, and its Atlantic Absolute Return Fund did quite well during the month, gaining 1.4%. By comparison, the S&P 500 was up 0.42%, while the MSCI World index was up 0.49%, and the Australian ASX 200 gained 0.59%.

The first three months of the year were difficult for the hedge fund industry in general, including Regal's Atlantic fund, which lost 0.56%, 4.98%, and 0.43%, respectively, in January, March and April. The gains for the rest of the hedge fund industry through April have also been muted...
