With the S&P 500 total return index down 1.17% year to date, Cooper Creek Partner’s positive 0.7% returns draw a different non-correlated picture of investing. The firm finds alpha where the crowd of hedge funds isn’t looking – most of its stock picks are not covered by major research houses – and one of its big winners in the first quarter is a classic example of an investing approach that goes against the grain.
