Falling headline inflation numbers, released Wednesday morning that showed subdued inflation, could be obfuscating significant inflation pressures. While gasoline led the consumer price index lower by 0.1%, there are more powerful trends driving inflation, particularly in regards to wage and employment growth that were highlighted in a recent Deutsche Bank presentation.
