When Tesla founder and futurist Elon Musk unveiled his latest innovation, an electric semi-truck, he was in a familiar position: riding the cutting edge of the future. But is the future of that industry built on an expectation of future growth likely to come from the batteries the firm makes? A recent Nomura investment presentation in Japan points to the future for electric vehicles and the batteries that drives success. One conclusion is clear: The future for electric vehicles is bright, with the battery underlying the vehicles perhaps the most significant component.
