Farming is a challenging profession. Long hours and tough, manual work can often result in little or no reward, and your livelihood is constantly at the mercy of disease, vermin, and the weather – none of which can be reliably controlled.

Farming, just like value investing has good years and bad years. The good years make up for the bad years and as long as you diversify and reduce risk, the business should be able to navigate through one or two bad harvests.
