Institutional Investors buy bank stocks into rally
Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s weekly fund manager survey is a great sentiment indicator of institutional investors. This week’s survey, which was conducted during the period 2 December to 8 December, quizzed a total of 211 panelists with $568 billion of assets under management.
Throughout 2016, the survey revealed that institutional investors were cautious on global growth and at some points in the year had elevated cash allocations. However, since the results of the US election became known, Wall Street seems to have completely changed its outlook.
