The “Young Turk,” as Forbes magazine once anointed him, is at it again, buying a stake in one of the storied names in private equity. Okumus Fund Management, founded by Istanbul native Ahmet Okumus, has taken a significant stake in the publicly traded shares of Carlyle Group as he likes valuations after seeing the stock get “hammered.” Okumus sees a high quality name selling at a discount and jumps in Carlyle Group, founded in 1987 by William E. Conway Jr., Daniel A. D’Aniello and David Rubenstein and still majority controlled by this group, is one of the more storied limited partnerships…
