Facebook is reportedly preparing to launch a news app, Notify, following positive results from its Instant Articles feature that allows for faster article loading in mobile. Within Notify, Facebook will feature content from a variety of content publishers such as CBS, CNN, Washington Post, Comedy Central, Vogue, and more. Facebook’s news initiative comes as Apple Inc. featured a news feature in its latest iOS 9 update, Google’s Accelerated Mobile Pages and Twitter’s Moments feature. While these notable competitors are entering the news app/trending content arena, Facebook is emerging as the new leader of internet advertising after a recent report and continued impressive growth in mobile traffic.
