Brexit Trend - Brexit wasn’t a shock to Wall Street because the UK decided to leave the EU. There is a larger picture, a Bank of America Merrill Lynch research piece says, and it speaks to a societal trend. “The Brexit vote was a shock to Wall Street because an electorate in a country with no economic or financial crisis voted to dramatically change its political status quo,” the bank opined. In part the new normal might be a central bank war on inequality. For investors, understanding this trend means a portfolio repositioning might be appropriate.
